Portable Fire Pumps
Fire Suppression
Portable fire pumps are compact, engine-driven or electric centrifugal pumps designed for use with kei fire truck water tanks and drafting operations. Drafting pumps allow independent water supply from static sources such as ponds, rivers, and cisterns.

Selection Guide

| Use Case | Recommended Flow | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Initial attack from tank | 100–200 L/min | Match to tank capacity |
| Relay pumping | 200–400 L/min | Consider drafting lift |
| Wildland interface | 100–150 L/min | Prioritize portability |
Maintenance Notes
Engine-driven portable pumps require regular carburetor cleaning, impeller inspection, and mechanical seal replacement. Pump dry-running, even briefly, can damage seals — always prime before starting. Store with fresh fuel or drained carburetors to prevent gum deposits.
